Netflix Party changed to Teleparty, more platforms added

Netflix Party has officially been rebranded as ‘Teleparty’, adding functionality for Disney+, HBO Max, HBO Now and Hulu.

The social TV app stated:

“We believe watch parties are a fun way to relax and hang out with the people you care about, so we have always wanted to expand beyond just Netflix.

“We are thrilled to announce in Version 2.0.0 of Netflix Party we now support watch parties on Hulu (with and without ads), Disney+, and HBO (Now and Max).”

With the pandemic forcing lockdown all over the world, the Chrome Extension’s user base has increased substantially. It claims to currently have over 10 million users.

The usage continues to be the same on Netflix titles, and a ‘party’ can now be hosted on other platforms with the same method.

Additionally, the feature has also been added to Microsoft’s web browser Microsoft Edge. Teleparty can be accessed through its Add-ons store.
