Netflix set to bring new Marie Kondo series

Netflix has announced a new series with Marie Kondo – Sparking Joy with Marie Kondo.

The announcement comes after the great success of her previous reality series Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, which was released in January 2019

The new series will allow people to nominate their entire towns to be organised.

The tidying guru’s previous web series revolved around her helping people decluttering their homes by getting rid of everything they were unnecessarily holding on to.

Her KonMari ideology of decluttering always comes down to one question – “Does it spark joy?”. With that question in mind, Kondo insists on letting go of everything that does not. This is also likely to be the inspiration for the name of her upcoming series.

The eight-episode web series Tidying Up with Marie Kondo even made it to the Emmy nominations last year.

Kondo is also widely popular for her books The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing and Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up.

She has also helped celebrities such as Hasan Minhaj, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel with “sparking joy” in their lives and homes.
