Netflix joins hands with WIT Studio for animator academy

Netflix has joined hands with Japanese animation studio ‘WIT’ for a brand-new animator academy.

The WIT Animator Academy will provide training for anime creation. It has been produced in collaboration with animation school Sasayuri.

Veteran animation expert Hitomi Tateno from Sasayuri will also serve as one of the primary instructors.

The streaming platform will support its launch, along with financially supporting 10 successful applicants by covering their tuition fees and living expenses during the course.

Graduates of the program will work on various WIT projects, as well as original content for Netflix.

Taiki Sakurai, Chief Producer, Anime, Netflix, wrote:

“We hope this will create a meaningful cycle of connecting, and bolstering best-in-class talent who make the future of anime.”
