Netflix shares first look for ‘The Wonder’ with Florence Pugh

Netflix has released the first look for its upcoming film, ‘The Wonder’ on Twitter. The film, which stars Florence Pugh in the lead, is now filming in Ireland.

The psychological thriller is adapted from the novel ‘The Wonder’ by Emma Donoghue. It is reportedly inspired by the ‘fasting girls’ phenomenon of the 19th century.

A nurse, Lib Wright, is sent to the tiny village to observe the little girl. Tourists and pilgrim masses line up to meet her who has survived without food for months.

Directed by Sebastian Lelio, ‘The Wonder’ is produced by Tessa Ross and Juliette Howell for House Productions, Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe for Element Pictures, and executive produced by Emma Donoghue, Len Blavatnik, and Danny Cohen.

Besides Pugh, the cast includes Tom Burke, Niamh Algar, Elaine Cassidy, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Toby Jones, Ciarán Hinds, Dermot Crowley, Brían F. O’Byrne, and David Wilmot.
