Netflix’s ‘Fear City: New York vs The Mob’ showcases a criminal ride back to the 70s

Fear City: New York vs The Mob is about five Mafia families who ruled New York with a bloody fist in the 1970s and ’80s until a group of federal agents tried the unthinkable, which is taking them down.

Fear City is a thrilling crime documentary from the producers of Don’t F**k With Cats. It is the story of New York Mafia’s ‘Five Families’ — Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, Genovese and Luccese — and the FBI investigation that brought them down.

Netflix’s description for the three-part series is:

“The inside story of the rise and fall of New York’s most powerful Mafia families and the end of the golden era of the Mob. With the full might of the FBI and an army of undercover agents, witness the bugging, the investigation, and the era-defining conclusion of the historic Mafia Commission Trial that changed everything.”

The documentary directed by Sam Hobkinson will highlight the transition of New York city from ‘Fun city’ to ‘Fear city’ and is scheduled to stream from July 22 on Netflix.
