Netflix embarks on a fashionable adventure in new reality show

Queer Eye alum Tan France and model-cum-fashion designer, Alexa Chung, will co-host Netflix’s new reality venture – a fashion competition series Next in Fashion.

The show will feature 18 contestants who will go head-to-head in an intense battle of creativity, originality and design to become the next big name in fashion. While not entirely amateur, the show features up and coming designers who’ve worked with major brands previously, and have had a hand in dressing up A-listers in the celebrity world.

The show will propel these aspiring designers into the spotlight and boost their careers to a higher status. They will compete to win a grand prize of $250,000 (£196,572) along with the golden opportunity to premiere their collection on luxury fashion online retailer Net-a-Porter.

The 10-part series, reminiscent of Project Runway, will also invite celebrity and guest judges including famed stylist, Elizabeth Stewart and Eva Chen, the director of fashion partnerships on Instagram. Other cameos are yet to be revealed.

Netflix while describing the series said that the contestants are expected to incorporate “a different trend or design style that has influenced the way the entire world dresses.”

The British fashionista duo have been engaged in widespread promotion through their new Instagram handle @nextinfashion:
