Netflix crime anthology ‘Dirty John’ back with season 2

After an overwhelming response to season 1, Netflix’s crime anthology series, ‘Dirty John’ is back with its second season. The streaming platform released the official trailer of ‘Dirty John’ season 2 on its official YouTube channel.

‘Dirty John’ is an American true-incidents-inspired crime anthology series, that had its first season Netflix premiere on February 14, 2019.

After the first season received positive to mixed reviews, ‘Dirty John’ is making a comeback with its second season. The story of the second season will chronicle the criminal consequences of the worst divorce case in San Diego History.

Based on a true incident, the story will essay the midnight murder of medical attorney, Dan Broderick by his erstwhile wife and now a socialite divorcee, Betty Broderick.

After Dan’s extramarital affair with his office assistant, Linda, his and Betty’s marriage ended with a bitter divorce.

Shown to be extremely short-tempered and borderline mentally volatile, Betty was unable to accept the abruptness of the divorce and resorted to sporadic outbursts of unlawful violence against Dan and his new wife, Linda.

Accusing Dan of psychologically abusing her, depriving her rights as a mother to their children and “rigging” the Justice system with his contacts and money power, Betty’s frustration peaked when one night she sneaked into Dan’s house and shot him and Linda in their sleep.

‘Dirty John’ season 2, also named ‘Dirty John: Betty, The Betty Broderick Story’, features stellar Hollywood names like Amanda Peet as Betty and Christan Slater as Dan Broderick respectively. Tiera Skovbye, Chris Mason and Rachel Keller are other names amongst the starcast.
