Netflix renews ‘Indian Matchmaking’, ‘The Circle’ and more

Netflix has announced new unscripted series and renewed others for a new season, and launched its largest casting call ever for its unscripted shows.

With an official video, Netflix announced to its fans a chance to be part of its reality shows. Starting from 9 August, the fans are invited to send their entries for their favourite reality shows on netflixreality.com.

Sharing the excitement related to the launch, Brandon Riegg, VP of Unscripted and Documentary Series, said: “Whether you love competition or cooking, dating or decor, style or a social experiment, we might have a show for you – either now or someday soon. Just select a category and submit your casting video to be considered for future seasons.”

To register and send entries, the participants must be at least 18. The focus is currently on the US, Canada, and the UK.

Netflix also announced the slate of upcoming seasons of reality shows. ‘The Circle’, whose season 3 is going to arrive soon, has already been renewed for seasons 4 and 5.

Emmy nominated Indian reality show ‘Indian Matchmaking” has been renewed for season 2. Matchmaker Seema Taparia will return to host.

‘The American Barbecue Showdown’, a food competition series, has also been renewed for season 2.

The new addition to Netflix’s unscripted series is ‘Roaring Twenties’. Netflix describes the series as a “coming-of-age story of eight twenty-somethings who set out to find success in life and love in Austin, Texas while learning to navigate the ‘new normal’ of 2020’s America”.
