Netflix’s Altered Carbon 2 gets release date

After the release of news about cast of Altered Carbon Season 2 in February 2019, Netflix has not made any announcement on progress of this multi-dimensional sci-fi thriller which is touted to be made on a bigger budget than the cost of 3 seasons of Games of Thrones as declared by Joel Kinnaman, who played the lead role of Takeshi Kovacs in Season 1.

Now, after nearly 11 months, Netflix has come out with a new teaser and confirmed release date as February 27, 2020, for Altered Carbon 2.

The series is based on the novel of the same name by Richard K Morgan and is set 300 years in the future. The series visualizes a world which is completely transformed by technological advancement thus empowering people to essentially live forever by transferring their consciousness into a new body. As a result, the terrifying concept of death is a myth in future.

Takeshi Kovacs, who is the lone survivor of an elite group of royal warriors from centuries in the past, is rejuvenated by Laurens Bancroft to solve a murder. As complex as it sounds, the series went into every minute detail to clearly explain the nuances of technology surrounding ‘re-sleeving’ and how it works.

As the story revolves around many characters who keep changing bodies, different artistes can be seen playing the same character. Joel Kinnaman, who played the role of Takeshi Kovacs, will be replaced by different artistes in flashbacks like Will Yun Lee and Byron Mann.

Anthony Mackie, who is seen as Sam Wilson in The Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will be playing an intense character by stepping into the shoes of Kovacs in Season 2 of Altered Carbon.

Along with Mackie, another Marvel star Simone Missick (Luke Cage), will be seen as character named Trepp while Dina Shihabi (Jack Ryan) as Dig 301, Torben Liebrecht (Operation Finale) as Colonel Ivan Carerra and James Saito as Tanaseda Hideki. Renee Elise Goldsberry as Quellcrist Falconer and Chris Conner as Poe are going to return in Season 2 of Altered Carbon as well.

This is going to be an out of world action experience altogether, and keeping in mind the kind of following and success the first season of Altered Carbon accomplished, this season is going to bring even more thrills and action for the viewers.
