Neon: Netflix announces new reggaeton comedy series

Netflix has announced a brand-new comedy series titled ‘Neon’, which explores the world of Reggaeton.

The eight-episode series has been created by bestselling author Shea Serrano, while Max Searle is the showrunner.

Neon is based on “three friends who move from a small town in Florida to Miami with the hopes of making it big in reggaeton music.”

Tyler Dean plays Santi, a rising reggae artist. While Emma Ferreira and Jordan Mendoza play his friends Ness and Felix. Courtney Taylor will star as A&R rep Mia, who supports him in his dream of making it big in the reggae world, along with Santi’s friends.

Serrano, a former journalist and teacher, has written the books ’The Rap Year Book’, ‘Basketball (and Other Things)’ and ‘Movies (and Other Things)’.
