Namaste Wahala on Netflix: An Indian-Nigerian love story

Netflix recently released the trailer for ‘Namaste Wahala’ which is set to release on the platform on February 14. This Nollywood-Bollywood collaborative project is directed by businesswoman-turned-filmmaker, Hamisha Daryani Ahuja.

An Indian investment banker and a Nigerian lawyer fatefully meet each other at the beach and fall in love. But their love story becomes complicated because of the cultural differences and opposing families. The movie is all about love, romance, happiness, tears, different familial bonds, and diverse and rich cultures.

The romantic drama features popular movie stars from both countries including Joke Silva, Richard Mofe Damijo, Segal Sujata, Ini-Dima Okojie, Ruslaan Mumtaz among others. The sound track is produced by M.I. Abaga and DJ Suketu.

Speaking about the project, Hamisha Daryani Ahuja shared:

“I am very excited about my movie Namaste Wahala going to the whole world through Netflix. The movie showcases the beauty of Nigeria and the wealth of talent in Nollywood. It was amazing to see how beautifully two cultures which I hold very close to my heart came together in this fusion movie. I can’t wait for all of you to watch it”.

Namaste Wahala was set to release in cinemas in April, 2020, but got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. It will now premiere as a Netflix Original on Valentine’s Day.
