Moxie on Netflix: Revolutionizing against sexism

Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming movie titled, ‘Moxie’. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Jennifer Mathieu. It will be released on the streaming platform on March 3.

Amy Poehler directorial Moxie is a contemporary school drama revolutionizing against the sexist social practices and incompetent institutions.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of how a 16-year-old girl, who otherwise prefers to be an invisible persona, takes inspiration from her mother’s rebellious past to start a revolution against her sexist and ignorant school mates and teachers.

It also depicts how the girls of the school are given unsolicited titles and names. We also see how boys view it so culturally normal to eve-tease girls, which is equivalent to harassment.

The footage also shows how institutions fail to take required actions against such practices, rather acts as an agent in silencing the victims.

The movie stars  Hadley Robinson, Josephine Langford, Lauren Tsai as Claudia, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Amy Poehler.
