‘Monsters at Work’ to stream on Disney+ from July 7

Disney+ released the official trailer for its upcoming web series, ‘Monsters at Work’. The animated web series is set to premiere on July 7, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday on the streaming platform.

After two decades of the initial premiere of the popular animated 2001 Pixar movie, Monsters Inc., which revolved around the secret monster society hidden behind closet doors, ‘Monsters at Work’ is set to continue as a spinoff of this storyline.

Monsters, Inc. switched to using children’s laughter for energy rather than cries at the end of the film, and the new web series shows the monster world adjusting to this new status quo.

Tylor Tuskmon, an enthusiastic young monster who finished first in his class at Monsters University and has always aspired to be a Scarer, will now be the focus of the new web series.

Going by the trailer, when he gets a job at Monsters, Inc., he learns that frightening is out and laughter is in. Tylor is temporarily sent to the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team (MIFT), where he must labor with a ragtag group of mechanics while pursuing his dream of becoming a Jokester.

Some of the original cast members will return for Monsters at Work, including John Goodman and Billy Crystal, as well as alums Jennifer Tilly, Bob Peterson, and Bonnie Hunt.

Ben Feldman, Mindy Kaling, Henry Winkler, Lucas Neff, and Alanna Ubach are among the new voice cast members.

Bobs Gannaway, a Disney animation veteran, conceived and executive produced ‘Monsters At Work’, which was produced by Sean Lurie.
