In 2019, Netflix India announced 10 new original films to be released in the year 2020. One of these films is Maska, a romantic comedy that intends to make you feel good.
Netflix released the trailer of the film which depicts a conflict of interest between a mother and her son. The son wants to sell his family’s age-old Irani cafe to fulfill his own dream of becoming an actor.
Maska revolves around the life of this young man, who refuses to carry forward his father’s legacy, as he struggles to make his own path; in his journey, he will find love and companionship.
The film stars Manisha Koirala in the lead role. This is Koirala’s second Netflix project after Lust Stories. Along with her, the lead roles in the film will be played by Javed Jaffrey, Nikita Dutta, Prit Kamani, and singer Shirley Setia.
While describing the plot of the film, Kamani said:
It’s a beautiful story about big dreams and tough choices .
The film is written and directed by Neeraj Udhwani. This will be Udhwani’s feature film directorial debut. It is produced by Seher Aly Latif and Shivani Saran of Mutant Films.
After a cast announcement video, Netflix had released “The Maska Song”. The film is set to release on 27 March.
