Marvel’s ‘Loki’ series on Disney+ reportedly renewed for season 2

Marvel Studios’ Loki has still not come up with the pilot season and there is news about confirmation of the second season on Disney+ according to a new listing in Production Weekly (via LRM).

The upcoming web series surrounding the character can be expected to go under works for season 2, even before the pilot season has started streaming.

A new round-up of production dates for upcoming movie and TV show shoots mentions Loki season 2, seemingly confirming the renewal.

Played by Tom Hiddleston, the anti-hero character first gained popularity in Thor (2011). Hiddleston has reprised the role in five films since, including both Thor sequels, appearing as the main villain in The Avengers, and returning for smaller roles in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

The show is currently billed as a mini-series consisting of just six episodes. It will likely be based in an alternate timeline and will follow Loki as he travels through time after gaining control of the Tesseract during the events of Endgame.

The cast includes Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sasha Lane, Sophia Di Martino, and Richard E. Grant. It is rumored that Grant might play Loki’s older self.

The pilot season is expected to be out in 2021.
