MX Player is now streaming ‘Mannphodganj Ki Binny’, a dramedy web series based on a small-town girl named Binny Bajpai.
The web series has been created by Applause Entertainment, an Indian content creation studio which has previously created The Office India and Criminal Justice on Hotstar as well as Amazon Prime Video India’s Mind the Malhotras and MX Player’s Hello Mini.
The official description for Mannphodganj ki Binny by Applause Entertainment reads:
“In Allahabad, lives a self-proclaimed beauty queen – BinniyBajpai. When her plan to escape the middle-class life of Mannphodganj fails, this classic tale of crisscrossed lovers becomes a bitter-sweet story of Binni’s infatuation filled revenge escapade.”
The trailer introduces us to Binny, who is 21 now and her parents are desperate to get her married. She, however, has a completely different plan in mind.
Directed by Vikas Chandra and written by Rachna Singh and Amitosh Nagpal, the cast includes Pranati Rai Prakash, Anurag Sinha, Alka Kaushal, Atul Srivastava, Abhinav Anand, Aru Krishansh, Samar Vermani, and Fahman Khan.
The web series is an adaptation of Rachna Singh’s book Band, Baaja, Boys.
