Mank: Netflix’s monochromatic biographical drama on ‘Citizen Kane’

Netflix has released the teaser for its upcoming black & white American biographical drama titled, “Mank“.

The film will chronicle the life of screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz and his rift with director Orson Welles over the screenplay credit for the 1941 classic, “Citizen Kane“.

The official description for the film reads:

1930s Hollywood is re-evaluated through the eyes of scathing social critic and alcoholic screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz as he races to finish the screenplay of Citizen Kane for Orson Welles.

It has been directed by David Fincher and features a heavyweight cast featuring Gary Oldman, Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Arliss Howard, Tom Pelphrey, Sam Troughton, Ferdinand Kingsley, Tuppence Middleton, Tom Burke, and Charles Dance.

The film will be released in select theaters in November, and on Netflix on December 4.
