Mahira Khan has turned producer for ‘Baarwan Khiladi’, an upcoming cricket web series for the on-demand video streaming platform Tapmad.
The actress revealed details on Instagram, along with the first look poster:
“A coming of age story set against the backdrop of the OG of all games – Cricket. A story about friendships, relationships, unity, failure, success, love and courage. A small peak into a labour of love and hard work.. from all of us to all of you.”
Baarwan Khiladi serves as the first original web series for Tapmad, which launched back in 2017.
Co-produced by Nina Kashif, it stars singer Danyal Zafar, who made his acting debut in 2014 with a short film titled ‘The Time Machine’.
Popular YouTuber Shahveer Jafry makes his acting debut with the web series, after repeatedly hinting that his future lies in the world of films and shows.
This comes after an announcement by the Pakistani government about creating its own ‘Netflix-style’ platform.
Platforms such as UrduFlix have also emerged recently, indicating that the country is ready for its own library of native web series and films.
