Ludo: Anurag Basu’s multi-starrer composite film on Netflix

Ludo, the upcoming offering by Netflix constitutes of an ensemble that will bring forth different stories interconnected by the Butterfly effect.

Director Anurag Basu’s livid anthology Ludo, recently braced us with the trailer. In what looks like a hilarious set of crime stories, Ludo boasts a stellar cast whose stories are knit together by confusion, and coincidences.

The Netflix Original will star actors Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Pankaj Tripathi and Sanya Malhotra among others.

Following the journey of four different lives who meet at a crossroads, Ludo is much more than just a mere coincidence.

The film will be knit up through four different stories that will have crime and comedy in the backdrop. All the actors might or might not appear on the screen together but every character is connected, or so claims Basu.

After a long time Basu will be seen in the director’s chair, and that too with a stellar ensemble. Talking about the film, Basu said:

“Ludo is unlike any film I’ve made before. It’s been an adventure. It was fantastic working with such a talented ensemble – where each actor brought a unique vision and craft”.

Music Director Pritam has composed music for the film. Basu, who has earlier worked with him in films like Barfi, Jagga Jasoos and Life in a Metro, said:

“Pritam, one of my closest collaborators, who I have worked with on so many projects, worked closely with me to bring this film to life and I am so grateful to him”.

Basu had earlier taken to Instagram to share the poster of his film.

As evident by the post, Ludo was slated to release earlier this year in theatres. But owing to the hiatus imposed by the lockdown, it will now stream as a Netflix Original.

Little details like Bachchan’s pilot experience at kidnapping, Rao’s off-beat and comical romance with Sheikh among others, the trailer shares a glimpse of several interesting characters, each one of them facing massive trouble in their lives, which all collide thanks to the butterfly effect.

The film will be produced under Anurag Basu Productions and Bhushan Kumar. Kumar said, “Ludo takes you on multiple journeys in the course of a couple of hours, introducing you to characters that will stay with you long after the film is over”.

Ludo takes you on four different journeys which meet at a crossroad. It comes out on Netflix this Diwali, on November 12.

The film justifies its title as soon as the trailer begins. Check it out here:
