Netflix’s Lucifer renewed for fifth season

Netflix and the team behind the show Lucifer have confirmed its renewal for the fifth season.

Further, it has been revealed that the show will come to an end following this season, and it will be the last we see of the devilish advocate Lucifer Morningstar.

Lucifer initially ran its three seasons on Fox, until it was cancelled. It was picked up by Netflix for a ten-episode fourth season on popular demand and campaigning by ardent fans.

The news has elicited bittersweet reactions from its fan base or the Lucifans, who are thrilled about season 5 but upset that the show is coming to an end.

Tom Ellis, who plays the protagonist, the devil himself, Lucifer Morningstar, shared a humorous video of himself reacting to the good news:

Netflix in its statement has promised the Lucifans that the fifth season will be “the big finish they’ve all been waiting for”.

No details about the storyline or release date have been revealed as of yet.
