Love Aaj Kal (2020), a romantic drama starring Kartik Aaryan, Sara Ali Khan and Randeep Hooda in lead, is now streaming on Netflix.
Written and directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film sees Kartik Aaryan play two distinct roles, one of a high schooler in the nineties and other of a present-day boy, Veer, who wants a committed relationship with Zoe, played by Sara Ali Khan.
Zoe is persistent about not compromising on her job for a relationship, leading to drastic complications with Veer.
In the original Love Aaj Kal (2009), which starred Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, Rishi Kapoor narrates his own story to Saif’s character. This version sees Randeep Hooda character, Raghu, doing the same for Zoe.
Love Aaj Kal is produced by Maddock Films of Dinesh Vijan, Imtiaz’s Window Seat Films and Reliance Entertainment. It released on 14 February and grossed approximately ₹52 crore worldwide.
The film received negative reviews from the audience and the critics alike. It is rated 5.5 IMDb and 17% on Rotten Tomatoes.
