Lootcase: Kunal Kemmu’s comedy-drama on Disney+Hotstar

Disney+Hotstar has released the official trailer of its latest comedy of errors, ‘Lootcase’. Starring Kunal Kemmu and Rasika Dugal as the lead, ‘Lootcase’ will release on July 31.

‘Lootcase’ is a hilarious comedy that revolves around a misplaced red suitcase full of cash. The stash of cash lands on the hands of Nandan Kumar, played by Kunal Kemmu, a middle-class man infested with middle-class problems. However, his and his family’s lives are set to change when Kumar finds a suitcase full of two thousand rupee note bundles.

Amongst this rat race of finding the whereabouts of the lost suitcase are multiple people: a corrupt politician (played by Gajraj Rao), determined underworld don (played by Vijay Raaz) and an honest cop (played by Ranvir Shorey). However, who ultimately manages to get the bag remains a mystery and forms the crux of the story.

Directed by Rajesh Krishnan and produced by Fox Star Studios, Lootcase is scheduled to release on July 31, along with six other films as a part of Disney+Hotstar’s multiple OTT releases.

Last month, Disney+Hotstar had announced a mega movie release marathon where seven films were to be released on the streaming platform. One of the scheduled releases was Dil Bechara, Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film post his death. These films were supposed to have theatrical releases, but due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, they opted for respective OTT releases.

Featuring a constellation of big Bollywood names like Alia Bhatt, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan, the announcement of the mega release was done on a live session, wherein Kunal Kemmu and Vidyut Jammwal were not invited.

Following this, Kemmu and Jammwal voiced out against the partial decision of the streaming platform through their respective Twitter handles.
