Locked Down on HBO Max: Anne Hathaway & Chiwetel Ejiofor’s comedy heist film

HBO Max has released the trailer of its upcoming film, Locked Down, which stars Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor in lead roles.

Locked Down was shot in the UK from September to October during the COVID-19 lockdown. As the name suggests, it is inspired by the present world situation.

The romantic comedy follows a couple, Linda (Hathaway) and Paxton (Ejiofor), who are on the verge of separation when the lockdown is put in place. Struggling as they are, both professionally and personally, the two come up with a plan to rob and take revenge from their employers. Though it remains to be seen if the duo is able to pull it off successfully, the heist brings them closer in unexpected ways.

Locked Down has been written by “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight and directed by Doug Liman, who is known for films like Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Edge of Tomorrow.

In addition to Hathaway and Ejiofor, it also stars Ben Stiller, Stephen Merchant, Mindy Kaling, Lucy Boynton, Ben Kingsley, Dule Hill, Mark Gatiss and Jazmyn Simon.

Locked Down comes out on HBO Max on January 14.
