Las Encinas to revive new chapter with ‘Elite Season 4’ on Netflix

Netflix dropped the trailer for the fourth season of its popular teen Spanish-series, ‘Elite’, that features a group of teens who deal with class divisions that lead to a murder, all within their school, Las Encinas.

Created by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona, this young adult drama starts with the arrival of three working-class teens into a school, Las Encinas, that is filled with students who have a wealthy background brings a rift in things. Eventually, the high tensions between the two groups leads to a murder. 

Apart from the murder, the crime-thriller also deals with various other issues faced by the teen gang; from class division, drugs, complicated relationships, family conflicts, to school rankings and scholarships.

Notably, ‘Elite’ (Season One) was streamed by over 20 million accounts within its first month of release. With three successful seasons, the fourth one has been renewed with an almost brand new cast – Manu Rios, Carla Díaz, Martina Cariddi, and Pol Granch – who come from both royalty and scholarships, and promise to upend the school’s status quo.

Itzan Escamilla (Samuel), Miguel Bernardeau (Guzmán), Arón Piper (Ander), Omar Ayuso (Omar), Claudia Salas (Rebeca), and Georgina Amorós (Cayetana) return as the series regulars on Season 4.

The third season ends in Polo’s death, and Guzman, Samuel and Rebeca repeating their final year at Las Encinas, followed by Ander and Omar, and Cayetana becoming the school cleaner.

Going by the latest trailer, Season 4 with its new cast is set to encounter the regulars that seem to lead to relationships being jeopardized, rekindled, and many that may come to an end.

“Elite Week” starts with a new series of Elite short stories that will feature untold stories about some of the characters in the series. 

Starting with the first story based on Guzman, Caye and Rebe, followed by the story on Nadia and Guzman, then the story on Omar, Ander and Alexis and finally the story based on Carla and Samuel.

Starting from June 14, this short story series will be released on the streamer every day until Season 4 premieres on June 18.
