Voot has confirmed that its upcoming OTT version of the reality show, ‘Bigg Boss’ will be hosted by Bollywood director and producer, Karan Johar. The series will start streaming from August 8, 2021.
This new digital leg of the show is a part of its 15th season and will run for six weeks. It will then tie into the actual television version which begins from September 19, on Colours TV.
Johar, in a statement on his involvement said:
“My mom and I are huge ‘Bigg Boss’ fans. As a viewer, the show keeps me entertained with dollops of drama. For decades, I have always enjoyed hosting shows and now with ‘Bigg Boss OTT’, the experience will be over-the-top. It’s my mother’s dream to come true. ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ will undeniably have a lot more drama.”
The Twitterverse, however, has not taken kindly to the news, and fans have not held back in criticising Johar as the new host.
