Karan Johar apologizes for ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’ title

Netflix’s upcoming Original Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives was recently under controversy when director Madhur Bhandarkar alleged that the title was taken from his upcoming project called Bollywood Wives.

Soon after this, director Karan Johar apologized for the similarity in the titles but also said that he is going to keep it unchanged.

He took to Twitter to express an apology in the form of a letter that was addressed to Bhandarkar.

Explaining why he thinks that title best suits the series, Johar said: “We assure you that the format, nature, audience and the title of our series is different and would not in any manner dent or encumber the exploitation of your work.”

This tweet was in response to Bhandarkar’s several tweets and official notices issued to Johar’s Dharma Productions.

Madhur Bhandarkar, earlier shared pictures of the letter written by the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA) to The Film and Television Producers Guild of India, on the basis of his complaint, and the response received. He even had accused Dharma Productions of “misusing and tweaking” the title of his forthcoming project Bollywood Wives
