Julia Roberts to lead Apple TV+’s ‘The Last Thing He Told Me’

Hollywood actor Julia Roberts will produce and star in Apple TV+’s upcoming project “The Last Thing He Told Me”. The show is based on a novel by Laura Dave.

The author is yet to come up with this novel, and ahead of its release, Roberts took up the task to helm its TV adaptation.

This is not the first time for her to be leading a web series. Previously, Roberts had produced and starred in Amazon Prime Video’s “Homecoming”.

The Last Thing He Told Me will follow a woman (Roberts) who forms an unexpected relationship with her teenage stepdaughter while searching for the truth behind her husband’s disappearance.

Author Laura Dave’s husband and filmmaker Josh Singer will also work on this adaptation. Singer is known for Academy Award winning film Spotlight and Ryan Gosling’s First Man.

The Last Thing He Told Me hails from Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and Disney’s 20th Television. The series will be produced under Roberts’s banner, Red Om Films, along with Dave, Singer and Reese Witherspoon.

The novel is set to be published by Simon & Schuster in May 2021, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
