John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Mumbai Saga’ to debut on OTT: Reports

Mumbai Saga’, a Sanjay Gupta directorial, is reportedly taking the OTT route and will premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

As per reports, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the streaming rights to the John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi starrer for a massive amount.

The sum is unprecedented, making ‘Mumbai Saga’ one of, if not the most, expensive acquisitions of recent times.

The streaming platform is yet to make an official announcement.

According to a source, the deal has not been locked yet. However, both sides are satisfied with the offer and will sign on the dotted line soon, post which Amazon Prime Video will begin promoting the film.

The news is in sharp contrast to what director Sanjay Gupta had said about the film in November. He had taken to Twitter to share that Mumbai Saga was meant to be released in theaters.

‘Mumbai Saga’ is a period gangster drama set in the 1980s-90s. It is based on true events and shows how Bombay became the present day Mumbai.

Besides Abraham and Hashmi, the film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Suneil Shetty, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, and Rohit Roy among others.
