Jaime Lorente, otherwise known as Denver on the hit Netflix web series ‘Money Heist‘, will be seen donning medieval garb for his upcoming project ‘El Cid‘, a Spanish war drama by Amazon Prime Video.
Amazon Prime Video took to its España Instagram handle to share the first look of Lorente’s character Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar from El Cid. One of the pictures shows Lorente’s character with a sword. Lorente‘s co-stars Alicia Sanz, Carlos Bardem and Elia Galera can also be seen in the photos.
El Cid is an upcoming Spanish web series based on the life of the legendary medieval war hero Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, the inspiration behind one of the landmark poetic works in the Spanish literary canon, “El Cantar de Mio Cid” (The poem of the Cid).
Georgia Brown, the Amazon director of European Original series expressed hope regarding the upcoming project:
“El Cid will be a unique and ambitious series that requires a cast with incredible talent and agility. Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar is a fascinating figure, a true hero whose exploits have been perpetuated over the centuries and we are excited to be able to give him life as never before with this impressive production.”
After Netflix’s Money Heist and Elite, this will be the third in line where Lorente will be seen as a lead.
