Netflix’s ‘Milestone’ illustrates truck driver’s struggles

Awarded the Best Film title at the 31st Singapore International Film Festival, ‘Milestone’ is set to release on Netflix on May 7, 2021. The movie features Suvinder Vicky and Lakshvir Saran in the lead roles.

‘Milestone’ follows the life story of a truck driver, Ghalib, who faces physical and emotional conflicts when he comes across challenges like finding a cure for his back and losing his job to an intern.

According to the director, Ivan Ayr, ‘Milestone’ is a movie that aims to “mirror the modern-day struggles” as it narrates the story of a man confined to his truck, just like how “we are all prisoners of our own perspectives”.

Produced by Kimsi Singh, the film also stars Mohinder Gujral, Gurinder Makna, Daljeet Singh, Akhilesh Kumar, Gaurika Bhatt and Arun Aseng.

The ambitious movie also got selected by the Venice and Busan film festivals. The lead actor Suvinder Vicky was awarded Best Performance at the 31st Singapore International Film Festival.

Through this film, Ayr attempts to let the audience experience the characters’ emotions as they realise the unexpected changes in their lives.
