Inside Edge Season 2: Farhan Akhtar shares news

Amazon Prime’s first-ever Indian original series, Inside Edge is finally getting a second season. The news was revealed by Farhan Akhtar who in a Tweet shared the first motion poster of season two along with the caption:

“Time to witness the Game beyond the Game! New season bouncing back on 6 Dec 2019. #InsideEdge2 #NewSeason

The show first aired in 2017 and the first season focused on a famous Indian cricketing franchise Mumbai Mavericks as they participated in the PPL (Powerplay T20 League).

The plot, though fictional, has been adapted from India’s real-life cricket scenario. The tournament is inspired by The IPL (Indian Premier League) which is a franchise based domestic cricket tournament started in 2008.

The first look of season two was released earlier this year by Amazon Prime. The show became immensely popular and even went on to be nominated for the 2018 International Emmy Awards in the drama category.

Inside Edge was created by Karan Anshuman and has a star cast of celebrities such as Richa Chadha, Vivek Oberoi, Sanjay Suri, Sayani Gupta, Tanuj Virwani among many others.

The show’s second season will be available to stream starting December 6th. Until then, hold on to your bats!
