Hubie Halloween: Adam Sandler’s latest escapade on Netflix

Halloween’s upon us! With the spooky month of October right around the corner, Netflix has released the trailer for Adam Sandler’s Hubie Halloween, set to premiere on October 7. The upcoming horror-comedy will feature Sandler as a dopey middle-aged man, who promises his town a safe and happy Halloween.

The film will be directed by Steven Brill, Sandler’s long time collaborating partner with Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions producing the film.

The official description of the film reads:

“Hubie’s not a popular guy in Salem, Massachusetts,
but that won’t stop this good-hearted but easily spooked man from keeping his town safe on Halloween.” (source: Netflix)

He’s a loser, he’s the town clown, he’s Halloween’s biggest fan. He’s Hubie Dubois. Sandler’s titular character is a self-appointed guardian of the townspeople, striving to protect them every Halloween-be it stale bacon or a voice in the sewer, Hubie has got it covered. He’s the boy who cried wolf and his idiosyncratic behaviour has him pegged as the town joke; only this time, he seems to be telling the truth.

Apart from Sandler, the film will star several familiar faces including Julie Bowen, Ray Liotta, Rob Schneider, June Squibb, Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Chiklis, Tim Meadows, Noah Schnapp, and Maya Rudolph. Kevin James and Kenan Thompson will also be joining the cast as the local police.

Hubie Halloween will mark the latest addition to a long list of films released under Netflix and Sandler’s extended deal, signed in 2014. The original deal which was extended this year in January, will include four more films. Murder Mystery, starring Sandler and Jennifer Aniston came out last year and became one of the most streamed movies on Netflix.
