‘House of the Dragon’ finale gets highest viewership since GoT

The finale of HBO Max’s fantasy series ‘House of the Dragon’ raked in 9.3 million viewers combined on all platforms, as per a mix of Nielsen and first-party data.

This is the highest number achieved by the finale of an HBO series since the series finale of ‘Game of Thrones’, which is the predecessor of ‘House of the Dragon’.

Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and HBO Max, said: “We’re so thrilled to see House of the Dragon catch fire with Game of Thrones fans around the world, as well as new viewers who are discovering the world of Westeros for the first time.

“Congrats to George, Ryan, Miguel and the whole House of the Dragon team on an incredible first season.”

The platform also revealed that the popularity of the spin-off had also resulted in increased viewership for the ‘Game of Thrones’ episodes.
