Disney+ Hotstar’s 1232KM based on Migrant Crisis

1232KM, which will soon release on Disney+ Hotstar, is a documentary on the Migrant Crisis which occurred during the Covid-19 lockdown in India.

Directed by Vinod Kapri, the story follows the journey of 7 migrant labourers who travelled a distance of 1232KM, from Delhi to Saharsa, Bihar, on bicycles.

1232KM will be available on Disney+ Hotstar from 24th March, exactly one year after India’s lockdown was first implemented.

The migrant crisis had shocked the country, a sudden country-wide shutdown rendered migrant labourers homeless and hungry for days at length. Hopeless, they undertook a journey back home with no means of transportation either.

The official description of the documentary reads:

“You have seen them. Now, walk with them. ‘1232 km’ takes us on a journey of a lifetime.”
