Home on Prime Video: Work from home family version

Amazon Prime’ Video has released the trailer for its upcoming Malayalam comedy-drama ‘Home’. It explores new-age parenthood under the impact of the ‘work from home’ culture, as smartphones and office-life rule youngsters.

Produced by Vijay Babu of Friday Film House and directed by writer-director Rojin Thomas, the family drama steps into the life of a father, Oliver Twist (Indrans) lost in the new world of technology and social media. Amid the ‘work from home’ culture, he takes it as an opportunity to bond with his sons through social media tools, who have drifted apart.

Speaking about the upcoming movie, Indrans said:

“I could completely relate to Oliver’s character. Just like him, I am not comfortable with technology and social media in real life. What really appealed to me about #Home is that it highlights the generation gap between parents and their children. The film is a contemporary and simple take on the most relatable issue that families deal with these days; that of a father trying hard to be his son’s best friend and to be a part of his world, while overcoming some hurdles, in this case – technology.”

Sreenath Bhasi (Anthony), speaking of the movie and his role as Oliver Twist’s elder son says:

“Home” will make you question the importance and attention we give to our relationships. It is much more than the technology challenges our parents face. I found this pervasive thought in the story extremely appealing.

“My character is like any of those thousands of millennials who are totally engrossed and lost in the chaos of a modern-day, social media and tech-savvy world. The film navigates through an emotional and heartwarming story of a father-son duo that juggles to adjust between each other’s lifestyle and find common ground. I am certain that the film will take the audience on a roller coaster of emotions.”

The star cast also includes Vijay Babu, Manju Pillai, Naslen, Kainakary Thankaraj, KPAC Lalitha, Srikanth Murali, Johny Antony, Pauly Wilson, Maniyan Pillai Raju, Anoop Menon, Aju Varghese, Kiran Aravindhakshan, Chithra, and Priyanka Nair.

The comedy-drama is all set to hit the screens of the OTT platform on August 19 and will be accessible across 240 countries and territories.
