A Harry Potter web series on HBO Max is in the very early phase, according to recent reports.
While the platform has denied any such development, sources close to it have fuelled the reports and given strong indication.
The move wouldn’t come as a surprise, as platforms right in the middle of the streaming war are increasingly using popular fiction to boost viewership.
Netflix has already successfully created a live-action series on The Witcher novels, with a series on Assassin’s Creed under production for launch on the platform.
Disney has also announced OTT series for its massively popular Marvel Franchise: WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki to name a few, which will stream on Disney+.
HBO Max has already revealed that all its theatre releases for 2021 will stream on HBO Max as well, with the likes of Godzilla vs. Kong, Mortal Kombat and Matrix 4 coming to streaming on the same day.
A Harry Potter series would certainly excite the countless Potterheads across the world.
