Halle Berry’s ‘Bruised’ gets release date on Netflix

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Halle Berry discussed her latest project ‘Bruised’. Along with helming the MMA drama, the Oscar-winning actress also stars in the film. The feature film will release globally on Netflix on November 24

Berry plays the role of a defamed MMA fighter, Jackie Justice in ‘Bruised’, that has been three years in the making. The character seeks redemption in the ring as she simultaneously fights for the custody of her young son.

The sports drama film first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, last September. 

In the virtual conference, Berry revealed that the original script was written for a “25-year-old Irish girl.” However, she convinced the producers to “reimagine it for a middle-aged black woman.”
