Netflix has unveiled the trailer for its much-awaited inspirational story Gunjan Saxena-The Kargil Girl. The movie is the biopic of the first female pilot of the Indian Air Force to fly in a war zone during the 1999 Kargil war.
The film revolves around the struggles of Gunjan Saxena, played by Janhvi Kapoor, in becoming Flight Lieutenant in the Indian Air force.
The trailer shows the reality of perspectives on women operating in Indian armed forces in the 90s. It also focuses on Gunjan’s strong willpower to fight against all the odds and prove to everyone that women do belong in the armed forces.
Despite the whole world against her, her father, played by Pankaj Tripathi, is seen telling her that hard work never allows you to fail.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl has been directed by Sharan Sharma, who has also co-written the script with Nikhil Mehrotra. The film has been produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The makers of the film described Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl as “an inspiring true story of a simple girl with big dreams who stood her ground to rule the skies”.
After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, nepotism in the Bollywood industry is called out aggressively by the netizens because of which people on twitter are staging for a boycott of this movie labelling it as a product of nepotism.
The movie is scheduled to be released on Netflix on 12 August.
