Ghost Stories: Netflix releases trailer for horror anthology

Netflix has released the trailer for its original upcoming film Ghost Stories.

The follow-up of Lust Stories will contain four short films directed by the same noteworthy Bollywood makers. This includes Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kashyap.

The four “mind-bending” stories will star some of the A-listers from new-age Bollywood.

The cast includes Sobhita Dhulipala (Made in Heaven (MIH) and Bard of Blood), Janhvi Kapoor (Dhadak), Vijay Varma (Gully Boy, A Suitable Boy and Pink) Mrunal Thakur (Batla House) and Gulshan Devaiah (Hate Story and Shaitan).

Ghost Stories’ trailer showcases bits and parts of all four films. It begins Karan Johar’s segment as Thakur is seen marrying Avinash Tiwary. Things get creepier as the couple starts to get intimate and the door creaks open.

Tiwary then addresses the ghost as “granny” while Thakur tells him she can’t see anyone.

The video then goes on to Akhtar’s segment with Kapoor playing Nurse Sameera to a fishy elderly woman. Likewise, the eeriness continues with Kashyap’s black and white shot segment with a pregnant Dhulipala.

The chilling Original will mark all four directors’ debut in the horror genre.

Johar took to Instagram to announce the trailer:

Ghost Stories is all set to release on New Years Day (January 1, 2020). Until then, you can catch the trailer which was dropped on the year’s spookiest day Friday the 13th:
