French sci-fi thriller ‘Oxygen’ to launch on Netflix

Netflix released the trailer of an upcoming French-language sci-fi thriller ‘Oxygen’, which will release on Netflix on May 12.

The film stars Cesar Award winner Mélanie Laurent in the lead. She is playing the role of a scientist who wakes in a cryogenic chamber unaware of anything about how she landed there and who she is.

She is living her worst nightmare and if she wants to escape it, she needs to rebuild her memory. But the catch is that she only has limited time on hand, only till the oxygen supply lasts.

The official description by Netflix reads:

“A young woman wakes up in a medical cryo unit. She doesn’t remember who she is or how she ended up sequestered in a box no larger than a coffin. As she’s running out of oxygen, she must rebuild her memory to find a way out of her nightmare.”

The film has been directed by acclaimed French director Alexandre Aja. It also stars Mathieu Amalric and Malik Zidi.
