FLYX and Filmfare have come together for India’s first-ever OTT Awards and the event will feature 32 categories.
Deepak Lamba (CEO of Worldwide Media), Shashank Singh (CEO & Co-Founder of Flyx), Jitesh Pillaai (Editor at Filmfare), Rahul Gangwani (Digital Editor of Filmfare), and Kartik Aaryan (Actor and celebrity) joined the conversation.
As shared by Deepak Lamba, the size of the Indian OTT market is soaring high and almost everyone is glued to their OTT screens, this is the right time to take this one step further by creating India’s first-ever OTT awards. He also added details about the show:
“Because necessity is the mother of invention, so we have come up with a very interesting and unique format where we will be doing the award on December 19 at Taj Lands End”
Answering the QnA, Kartik Aaryan added that 2020 really helped him rejuvenate and be with his family. He is looking forward to starting his new and exciting projects. Also revealing:
“2021 mein aap meri film dekhne wale hai Dhamaka… I am really excited about my work-life and yeah, I am happy in my personal life!”
Speaking about the changes coming to Flyx regarding movies and shows, Shashank Singh hinted at the launch of a new TV App and that there is something exciting coming up by the end of January.
Sharing his views on the future of OTT in the next five years, Jitesh Pillaai said:
“Like I have constantly said, small screen or big screen, content is king. Now, what I also like is that there are no hierarchies here. You could be Bollywood’s biggest star but you can topline an OTT show. You could be a TV or an unknown person and become bigger than a movie star. I think, OTT truly decides the cross-pollination. You can dream the world with OTT.”
