Florence Pugh led ‘The Wonder’ to stream on Netflix from November 16

Netflix has announced that its upcoming film, ‘The Wonder‘ will release theatrically on November 2 and have a digital premiere on November 16.

‘The Wonder’ is a psychological thriller that is based on Emma Donoghue’s (Room) eponymous novel. It is inspired by the ‘fasting girls’ phenomenon of the 19th century.

The plot is set in the Irish Midlands and follows a young girl, 11-year-old Anna O’Donnell (Kila Lord Cassidy), who shuns food and remains perfectly healthy. A nurse, Lib Wright (Pugh) is dispatched to observe the girl with tourists and pilgrims gathering to meet her.

Now, Lib must figure out if its really a biological miracle or some sinister forces with ulterior motives are at play.

‘The Wonder’ has been directed by Sebastian Lelio and also stars Tom Burke, Niamh Algar, Elaine Cassidy, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Toby Jones, Ciarán Hinds, Dermot Crowley, Brían F. O’Byrne, and David Wilmot.
