Netflix released the first look of its upcoming action flick ‘Kate’. The movie stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the lead role.
Set in Tokyo, Japan, the plot revolves around an assassin poisoned on a mission, with less than 24 hours to survive and exact her revenge against those responsible for it.
The preview images released offer a glimpse into Winstead’s cool look as an assassin. She dons a sleeveless t-shirt with sunglasses, and smoking a cigarette in one of the pictures.
Alongside Winstead, the cast includes Tadanobu Asano, Michiel Huisman, Jun Kunimura, Miyavi, Miku Martineau, and Woody Harrelson.
Talking about the toughest scene to film, director Cedric Nicolas-Troyan said in a statement: “The hardest one to shoot was the one with Mary and Miyavi inside the apartment. We couldn’t shoot that with stunt doubles, so they had to do it themselves. You had two actors that are doing very, very close-contact stunt work. We thought something bad could happen there. This one was definitely making me nervous.”
There is no official release date announced by Netflix, but Kate will hit the streaming service globally this fall.
