Fawad Khan to reportedly feature in ‘Ms. Marvel’

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is reportedly joining the cast of Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series ‘Ms. Marvel’. The latest addition to Marvel Cinematic Universe will introduce the first on-screen Muslim-American superhero, promoting diversity. 

Khan, well known for his work in Pakistani serials ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ and ‘Humsafar’, and Bollywood movies like ‘Khoobsurat’, ‘Kapoor & Sons’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is set to make his Hollywood debut if rumours are true. According to Ms. Marvel’s IMDB Page, the actor will be essaying the role of a character named Hasan.

The news of Fawad’s involvement in the project was further shared by BBC’s Entertainment Journalist Haroon Rashid, who posted a tweet suggesting the possibility.

He wrote: “Wow! Fawad Khan is set to appear in Ms. Marvel – the Disney+ series about Marvel’s first titular Muslim character. He’s listed on the show’s official IMDb page. Farhan Akhtar, Nimra Bucha, and Samina Ahmad are reportedly part of the cast too. Marvel yet to comment. Amazing if true!”

Ms. Marvel is a six-episode series that will follow a Pakistani American Kamala Khan raised in New Jersey, who idolises Captain Marvel and gains polymorphous powers.

Bisha K. is the head writer for the series, which will be directed by Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Meera Menon. The series stars Iman Vellani, Saagar Shaikh, Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur.
