Family: Celebrities unite for made-at-home short film

SET India, on their YouTube channel have published a very interesting and entertaining video, focused on an important cause. Titled, #Family A Made At Home Short Film, the video features major Indian film actors and aims at spreading positivity and awareness during these times of lock-down.

Family features major actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajnikanth, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Mammootty, Sonalee Kulkarni, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Shiva Rajkumar & Diljit Dosanjh. It has been virtually directed by Prasoon Pandey.

The film opens with Amitabh Bachchan asking around for his sun-glasses that he cannot find. The camera then shifts to other actors who go around the house asking each other about the lost glasses as they search for them.

As the sun glasses are found and handed to Big B, he reveals to the camera that none of the actors present in the video have actually left their respective homes and this film has been made and edited in a way to show everyone is present together.

Since Family has been shot by everyone at different places, the film is in monochrome in order to avoid change in background colours and lighting to give the illusion of the same house.

Bachchan uses this opportunity to address the importance of not stepping out to prevent the COVID-19 infection.

He further points out that workers and daily wage earners belonging to the film industry have been majorly affected by this lock-down therefore, with the help of TV channels and sponsors, a cash amount has been collected.

This amount will be distributed to affected personnel as a form of relief during these trying times. He ends the video by saying:

Don’t be scared, don’t panic, be safe and this too shall pass.

The title of the film represents the close knit family of the Indian film fraternity. This effort has been made in collaboration with Sony Pictures Network and Kalyan Jewellers.
