A sequel to Netflix’s high-octane summer release ‘Extraction’, which starred Chris Hemsworth, has been confirmed. Co-producer and writer of the first film, Joe Russo, will also write the sequel.
Russo told Deadline:
“The deal is closed for me to write Extraction 2, and we are in the formative stages of what the story can be. We’re not committing yet to whether that story goes forward, or backward in time. We left a big loose ending that leaves question marks for the audience.”
The film is well on its way to overtake Ryan Reynold’s 6 Underground and become Netflix’s most-watched film of all time.
Russo, along with his brother Anthony Russo, is known for directing Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, the latter of which holds the record for the highest-grossing film of all time.
The duo also produced the first Extraction.
