Everybody’s Talking About Jamie on Prime Video: Musical on aspiring drag queen

Amazon Prime Video has released the trailer of its upcoming musical drama ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’. The movie is inspired by the 2011 television documentary ‘Jamie: Drag Queen at 16’.

Set in the town of Sheffield, ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’ follows a teenage boy Jamie and his secret dream of becoming a drag queen and having a life on stage.

Jamie receives emotional support from his mom and his best friend Pritti, who encourages her to chase his dream. He soon finds a mentor in the form of Miss Loco Chanelle, a former drag queen who assists him in his performance. But Jamie’s journey is not going to be an easy one as he faces prejudice in the community he lives in.

The trailer features some colourful musical numbers with stylized choreography.

The musical film has been directed by Jonathan Butterell on a screenplay penned by Tom MacRae. The movie stars Max Harwood, Richard E. Grant. Lauren Patel, Sarah Lancashire, Adeel Akhtar, and Shobna Gulati. 

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 17 September.
