Eros Now’s ‘A Monsoon Date’ awarded at Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati

Eros Now’s original short film titled, “A Monsoon Date” has won the best short film award at the Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati.

The 20 minute film stars Konkana Sen Sharma and Priyanshu Painyuli in the lead. Centred on the LGBTQ community, it showcases the journey of a young woman who seeks love and acceptance after a heart-breaking past, and has bitter-sweet experiences during a trip to see her date. 

Talking about the film’s achievement, Sharma said:

“I am very elated and happy with the news! I believe A Monsoon Date is one such short film that manifests the thought that good stories or unique content doesn’t need to be long but can have a huge impact. Additionally, I want to congratulate the entire team because I know how much each member of the team has put in their heart and soul to the project.”

A Monsoon Date has been written by Gazal Dhaliwal and directed by Tanuja Chandra. It originally premiered in 2019 on the platform and is still available to stream.
