Looney Tunes Cartoons is a modern remake, featuring all the iconic characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety Bird, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Taz, Beaky Buzzard, Cecil Turtle, Hubie and Bertie, Petunia Pig, Pete Puma, Gossamer and Mama Buzzard under one roof, with all their peculiar features intact.

Executive Producer Peter Browngardt, wanted the show to have the essence of that of the 40’s originals.

However, in response to the recent gun violence in the US, the show will be changing a character’s accessories.

Elmer Fudd will no longer be seen with his rifle, he would instead attempt to hunt his nemesis, Bugs Bunny with a scythe.

“We’re going through this wave of anti-bullying, ‘everyone needs to be friends’, ‘everyone needs to get along’. Looney Tunes is pretty much the antithesis of that. It’s two characters in conflict, sometimes getting pretty violent,” said Browngardt adding “We’re not doing guns, but we can do cartoony violence – TNT, the Acme stuff,” in an interview with the New York Times.

The animated web television series, Looney Tunes Cartoons premiered on HBO Max on 27 May with the first ten episodes.
