ALTBalaji boss, Ekta Kapoor, unveiled the poster of a new web series for the platform on her birthday, titled, ‘The Queens of Chambal’. As the title suggests, the show is set in the heartlands of Chambal with two female bandits as protagonists.
The women-centric series will showcase the two ladies commanding the otherwise male-dominant, dangerous landscape. The illustration of the poster reveals the leading ladies sitting atop a pile of dead bodies, laughing their hearts out, as they stamp their governance over the area.
The social media post for the show’s reveal said:
“Kehte hain aurat hi aurat ki sabse badi dushman hoti hai, par shayad woh log humse nahi mile.” Aa rahe hain Ratna Devi aur Menka, jald hi on #ALTBalaji! Shoot begins soon for #TheQueensOfChambal
The web series will also stream on MX Player, however, as filming gets underway, further details about it are still under wraps. Post Broken but Beautiful 3 and The Married Woman, ALTBalaji is looking to strengthen its content library with another promising narrative.
